All Natural, Homemade Hair Mask for Thin, Brittle Hair

Bring thin, brittle hair back to life with ingredients straight out of your kitchen cabinets. This all natural mask works wonders on my hair and never fails to help restore it’s natural texture and glossy shine.

For the best results, I put this hair mask on before bed and wash out in the morning, but if you have fancy sheets and don’t particularly feel like getting oil on them, then you can just leave it on for 45 minutes (or longer) before rinsing.

Before you read the ingredients and close this tab, yes, I am telling you to put bananas in your hair.

Bananas are incredible when it comes to repairing hair as they contain potassium, vitamin b6, vitamin C, and other fabulous properties that benefit you in many different ways. This mask can help with restoring moisture, strengthening hair follicles and regulating your natural oil production.

Oh and this hair mask is most likely cheaper, and most definitely safer, than the masks you are buying at the store.

Banana & Honey Hair Mask


1 tablespoon coconut oil

1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

2 very ripe, organic bananas

1 tablespoon raw honey

  1. Blend your bananas in a food processor until extremely smooth. You really want to try and avoid any chunks as these can get stuck in your hair, and they will stay there. So no chunks, please.
  2. Add the honey, olive oil, and coconut oil to the blender and mix again until smooth.
  3. Apply to damp hair, and allow to sit for 15-20 minutes. Rinse and wash your hair, and allow to dry as normal.
