As you know, I am a big fan of high-quality, grass-fed collagen peptides as a supplement to a healthy diet. I utilize collagen daily in order to maximize all the incredible benefits that it offers. Since taking my collagen every morning, I have experienced firmer skin, stronger nails, longer and thicker hair, and improved gut health!
So what is this collagen stuff?
Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body, the main structural protein found in skin and connective tissue.. Collagen peptides are short chain amino acids. Basically, without collagen, your skin would be dry and thin, your nails would be brittle, your muscles couldn’t grow, and your bones would be extremely fragile.
Good brands of collagen you can buy for consumption will be sourced from grass-fed, pasture-raised bovine hides which ensures a natural, high quality, and sustainable source of nutrients. Most high-quality collagen brands will be Kosher, Gluten Free, dairy-free, paleo and Whole-30 approved!

THIS RECIPE! Seriously, these little chocolate collagen protein balls are not only delicious but are packed with healthy fats and all the beautiful benefits of collagen. They make for a great post-workout grab + go, midday energy boost or evening "sweet" treat. They can be customized to be RESTART approved by ditching the sweetener and are always paleo and keto friendly. The best part? These take FIVE minutes to make, maybe less. You just throw all the ingredients together in a large bowl, make little balls and pop them in the fridge. Voila!

Chocolate Collagen Protein Balls
Yield: 16 protein balls
1 cup nut butter of choice, slightly softened and stirred
1/2 cup grass-fed collagen powder
1/4 cup cacao powder
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
optional: up to 1/4 cup granulated sweetener of choice.
1) In a large bowl, mix all of the ingredients together.
2) Using your hands, form little ball shapes using 1 tablespoon of the mixture for each one.
3) Allow to firm in the refrigerator (approx. 1 hour).
* Store these bites in either your fridge (2 weeks) or your freezer (one month+) *
