Homemade Dipping Sauces (Paleo, Refined Sugar-Free)

Who doesn’t love dipping sauces? We use them on everything in this house. Billy and Kent especially love Ketchup, so that's a staple you will always find in our home.

The sad reality is that many store-bought brands have nasty ingredients hidden in each bottle that you wouldn’t even know were there. MSG, flour containing wheat, added sugar, I’ve seen them all. Any condiments containing soybean oil, canola oil, corn syrup and HFCS are also pretty much guaranteed to contain GMOs, which is a huge no-go for my family.

So we make our own! These recipes are easy and free from junk. Great to keep on hand at all times.

Homemade Ketchup (Sugar Free, Dairy Free, Gluten-Free)

⅔  cup organic tomato paste

¼ cup raw honey

⅓ cup filtered water

⅓ cup apple cider vinegar

Pinch of salt, onion powder, garlic powder

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients over a medium heat. Whisk until smooth.
  2. Bring to a boil before reducing heat to low and simmering for 20 minutes. The sauce will thicken.
  3. Remove from heat and cool.  Transfer to an airtight container and keep in the fridge.

Homemade Mayo (Sugar-Free, Dairy Free, Gluten-Free)

2 organic egg yolks

1 cup extra virgin olive oil

1 teaspoon mustard

4 teaspoons fresh lemon juice

Pinch of salt

  1. In a food mixer, blend your egg yolks, mustard and 1 teaspoon lemon juice.
  2. During the whisking process, gradually add your olive oil little bit by little bit.
  3. An emulsion will form and the mayo will be thick and creamy.
  4. Add the remaining lemon juice and blend again.
  5. Store in an airtight container in the fridge!

Homemade Ranch (Sugar Free, Dairy Free, Gluten Free)

1 cup homemade mayo

⅓ cup unsweetened, organic coconut milk (shake and whisk a little before using)

2 teaspoons salt

4 tablespoons parsley

3 tablespoons dill weed

2 teaspoons dried chives

4 teaspoons garlic powder

4 teaspoons onion powder

½ tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  1. In a large bowl, mix all of your ingredients until smooth.
  2. Store in an airtight container in the fridge!
