Paleo + Keto Nutella Crunch Squares
Soft, crunchy, chewy, and chocolatey. These Paleo + Keto Nutella Crunch Bars are a delicious treat that your family will love!
NUTELLA, a smooth chocolate-hazelnut spread used on toast, on fruit, and in recipes-- is a nostalgic childhood treat. I remember occasionally being allowed Nutella on gluten-free toast for breakfast on holidays and birthdays and it was an extremely exciting time in the Tommey house. As soon as I was old enough to go to the store and buy my own food, I would get a jar of Nutella and sneak it on everything. I loved the stuff, and as horrible as the ingredients are, the stuff spooned straight from the jar is pretty darn delicious too.
I may be a little biased, but I far prefer this version of the chocolatey spread we all adore. As well as being a million times healthier, you can really taste the hazelnuts and feel some of their crunchy texture. It tastes fresh, perfectly sweet, and is as creamy as the real thing.
These bars are made with this homemade nutella, as well as additional hazelnuts. They have all the flavors of our favorite spread but with crunch, chew and all around yumminess.
Start by making your own Nutella. I recommend making a big batch because once you try it, you'll want to use it for everything.
Add two cups of the chocolate spread to the rest of the ingredients and roll into a ball.
Spread dough on a baking tray or pan and refrigerate. Patience is key here.
Remove from the fridge, cover in a thick layer of creamy melted dark chocolate.
Cover the chocolate tray and cool in the refrigerator. Cut into bars before serving.

Nutella Crunch Squares
(Makes 12 squares)
2 cups homemade nutella
1/2 cup sweetener of choice (liquid works best)
2 tablespoons unsweetened nut milk
1 1/2 cups dark chocolate chips (we like Lily's for a lower-carb option)
3/4 cup coconut flour
1/2 cup crushed nuts of choice
1) If you don't already have some on hand, make 2 cups of homemade nutella using my recipe linked in the ingredients list.
2) In a large bowl, mix all of the ingredients together (except the dark chocolate) until you can roll into a ball.
3) Press mixture into the bottom of a square pan until even. Transfer to the fridge or freezer for 30 minutes, or until hard.
4) Melt dark chocolate in a medium glass bowl set over a pan of lightly simmering water.
5) Pour melted chocolate over the top of the nutella mixture, add crushed nuts on top and freeze for another 30 minutes.
6) Slice into squares and serve!
